Wolf-livestock herder interactions
Brandenburg State hosts the highest number of wolf packs in Germany. This poses serious and new challenges for livestock husbandry practices.
We study factors that determine livestock-predation by wolves and assess mitigation strategies and consequences for grassland systems.
Impact of African Swine Fever (ASF)
ASF causes high mortality in both, wild boar and domestic pig; the epidemic and associated prevention and mitigation efforts have major impacts.
Our research focuses on the assessment of risks and consequences for regional farming systems.
